HairGrid is a two-device tool that lets you see and section the back of your own head while you style your hair at home. Your iPhone is the camera, and a computer (Mac or Windows) is the screen you watch. Your phone streams its rear-camera view to your computer over your Wi-Fi, with an adjustable grid laid on top to guide clean, even parts.
You'll need both an iPhone and a computer on the same Wi-Fi network.
Do I really need a computer?
Yes. HairGrid works by streaming your iPhone's camera to a larger screen so you can see the back of your head while your hands are free. The computer is that screen. Any Mac or Windows computer with a web browser works — you just open app.hairgrid.app, no install required.
Which devices are supported?
The HairGrid app runs on iPhone. The viewer runs in a web browser on any Mac or Windows computer. Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Does HairGrid record or store my video?
No. Your camera view streams directly from your phone to your own paired computer and is used only during your session. It is not recorded, stored, or sent to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
The two devices won't connect. What can I try?
Make sure your iPhone and your computer are on the same Wi-Fi network, that you've allowed HairGrid access to your camera and local network when prompted, and that the QR code is fully visible on your computer screen when you scan it. Refreshing the viewer page on your computer to get a new QR code often helps.
How much does HairGrid cost?
HairGrid is free to download and use.
